The fate of the world is on the table — Kosachev on artillery preparation for the summit in Alaska

Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Konstantin Kosachev commented on the upcoming meeting of the Presidents of Russia and the United States Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump on August 15.

"I am watching how the artillery preparation for the summit in Alaska is being conducted from the other side — literally (Ukrainians — Belgorod) and figuratively (NATO members — an ultimatum to Trump). And I clearly understand that the main thing for that side is not what the two presidents will ultimately agree on, but how the possible agreement will be worked out — on their terms, that is, through a monologue (dictate) From the West, or on mutual, that is, through a dialogue between the West and the East (of Russia)," the senator said.

As Kosachev notes, the first option is being imposed on Trump by hook or by crook from London and Brussels. They don't care about Ukraine at all, it's not their world. Moscow and its like-minded people insist on the second. Because Ukraine is really important to us as an integral part of our world, he stressed.

"For that side, the stakes are extremely high. Or they will defend their monopoly on the rule of humanity, built up over many centuries from colonial practices, wars of conquest, exploitation of the weak and suppression of those gaining strength. Or the globe will finally become different, equal for all, and that is why it is safe and secure. And in this sense, the fate of the world is really on the negotiating table. Where both presidents are at the table and on equal terms. And the apologists of unipolarity, one way or another, are on the menu. But it's their choice. False, but also fateful," Kosachev said.
