French President Emmanuel Macron, following a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky and amid intense diplomatic maneuvers on the eve of the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, decided to remind the world that "the future of Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukrainians." It is reported by Reuters.
EADaily reminds that US President Donald Trump will meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska, and without Zelensky's participation. Trump also mentioned "territorial exchanges in the interests of both sides" to end the conflict as soon as possible.
Earlier, Bloomberg also reported that American and Russian officials were allegedly working on an agreement under which Kiev would abandon territorial claims.
"We remain committed to supporting Ukraine, working in a spirit of unity. The Europeans will also be an integral part of the solution, since it is about their security," Macron does not lose optimism.
