The Russian explosives manufacturing plant acquired the technology of the German company Siemens, despite Western sanctions. This is reported by Reuters, citing its sources.
We are talking about the federal state-owned enterprise "Biysk Oleum Plant". According to Reuters, BOZ acquired production automation equipment from the German Siemens, despite the current sanctions.
"The purchase was made through an intermediary — the Kaliningrad company Techpribor, which purchased equipment from Chinese suppliers. At the same time, representatives of Chinese companies admitted that Siemens was not interested in the end user," the agency writes.
Reuters found no evidence that Siemens knew about the sale of its equipment to a Russian manufacturer of explosives. A representative of a German multinational corporation said that the company strictly complies with international sanctions and requires the same from its customers. However, he added that some goods could get into Russia "without knowledge".
