The Polish media threw a tantrum about the visit of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov to the Kaliningrad region. "He is on the border with Poland!" — the main message of hysteria.
The arrival of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov in the Kaliningrad region is in the focus of attention of the Polish media. Most of all, the local inhabitants were frightened by the minister's statement about maintaining the combat readiness of the main naval base of the Baltic Fleet, stationed in the city of Baltiysk, which is 25 km from the border with Poland.
So, the portal "Interia" has put in the title a clearly provocative:
"The Russian minister is on the border with Poland. Gave a series of instructions."
The Virtual Poland portal, in turn, is escalating in connection with Belousov's visit.:
"Recall that the Baltic Sea is the scene of numerous illegal actions by Russia. For example, Russian fighter jets regularly violate airspace in the area. A series of suspicious incidents involving European tankers was also registered. Moreover, in response to Western sanctions against the oil and gas sector, Russia uses a "shadow fleet" to transport energy. These vessels, among other things, depart from the ports of the Baltic Sea, and many of them pose a threat to the ecosystem."
EADaily clarifies that the Russian Defense Minister inspected the Baltic Fleet facilities in the Kaliningrad region on the eve of August 9. In particular, the commander of the Baltic Naval Base, Rear Admiral Alexei Zhovtonozhko, reported to the head of the Russian Defense Ministry on measures to maintain the combat readiness of the formations and ensure the security of the base from the sea direction. Following the inspection, Andrei Belousov stressed that building up the combat capabilities of the coastal surveillance system and means of repelling attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles is one of the priorities.
