A protest rally has been announced in Vilnius against the office of the fugitive Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya located in Lithuania.
The initiator of the event, the deputy from the Lithuanian "National Association" Vytautas Sinitsa told the media:
"The purpose of the protest action is to cancel the diplomatic status granted to Tikhanovskaya, her office and [cancel] the funding provided by Lithuania!"
The Lithuanian nationalist also called on the country's authorities to require the Tikhanovskaya office to publicly report on the Lithuanian and international support received.
EADaily reminds that Tikhanovskaya and her office settled in Lithuania after fleeing Belarus in 2020. The oppositionists set as their task the overthrow of Alexander Lukashenko and the rupture of Belarusian-Russian relations. Earlier, the Lithuanian Seimas was already interested in questions about the financing of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's activities in the country, as well as the accreditation and legality of such decisions.
