In St. Petersburg, parents tried to hide the death of a newborn baby, the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the city reported.

"The preliminary investigation established that on August 1, 2025, in one of the houses on the Berezovoy in Aviagorodke G. A baby died in St. Petersburg. Parents, instead of reporting the incident, tried to hide the death of the child," the report said.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The child's mother and her roommate were detained.

According to Channel Five, a few days before the tragedy, a married couple drank alcoholic beverages with a friend. Then the woman admitted that she gave birth at home and gave birth to a child who died some time later. She confirmed her words with photos of the newborn.

According to preliminary data, that day the woman was in a state of alcoholic intoxication, gave birth to a child in the toilet. Wiped it with wet wipes, tore off the umbilical cord. The baby was still alive.

The next morning, the child stopped showing signs of life. Then, according to the source of the TV channel, the couple decided to get rid of the body — wrapped in a blanket and buried on the site. Soon the place of the dig was stirred up by dogs. Then it was decided to burn the baby.

"The couple put the body in a barrel. Together with him, clothes and garbage were set on fire to eliminate traces. The ashes were scattered around the site, " the report says.
