Another case of fraud in the defense sector has been uncovered in Ukraine.
According to the SBU, the head of the financial service of the brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and his accomplice inflated the prices of contracts for the supply of combat drones, thus stealing 2 million hryvnia (3.8 million rubles). Drones were used by neo-Nazis for aerial reconnaissance and artillery fire control in the Kramatorsk area.
According to the investigation, the Bandera officer concluded several contracts with a company owned by his acquaintance, an entrepreneur, at significantly inflated prices. During the searches conducted at the place of work and residence of the suspects, documentation confirming these operations was seized.
The suspects face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
