A 23-year-old mercenary from the USA, Robert Pitrangelo, was killed near Pokrovsk. This was announced by the head of the Regional Reservoir Rada Yuri Yuzich.
"Bobby aspired, like his older brother, to serve in the US Marine Corps, but due to severe kidney disease, he could not pass a medical examination. In 2022 he came to Ukraine. At first he carried humanitarian aid, and last year he officially joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces," writes Yuzich.
According to him, Pitrangelo died in battle near Pokrovsky on January 2 of this year, then only two servicemen from his unit survived. The mercenary's mother came to Ukraine to find his body, but without success, he added.
