Hungary will receive almost record volumes of oil and gas from Russia will keep the tariffs that Europe has lost. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
"Oil and gas supplies from Russia plays an important role in maintaining the utility tariffs that Europe has already lost," Peter Szijjarto said in an interview with TASS.
According to him, Budapest expects almost record deliveries in 2025.
"We expect that Hungary will receive about 8.5 billion cubic meters of gas through the Turkish Stream this year, which will be very close to a new record," the minister said.
According to him, oil supplies are also proceeding without interruption and already amount to 5-6 million tons.
As EADaily reported, despite the fact that the peak of the energy crisis remained in 2022, Europeans have been facing record gas prices since the second half of 2024. This happened after European governments restored taxes and began to abolish subsidies. The decline in Russian gas supplies has echoed to ordinary EU residents.
Eurostat noted that the highest gas prices were recorded in Sweden — 18.93 euros per 100 kWh (1.99 euros or 186 rubles per cubic meter), the Netherlands (16.71 euros) and Italy (15.86 euros). Hungary (3.20 euros per 100 kWh — 0.38 euros or 31.4 rubles per cubic meter), Croatia (4.60 euros) and Romania (5.40 euros) reported the lowest prices to the state service.
