Police officers who transmitted official information to the Baza telegram channel were detained. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"The illegal activities of several employees of the territorial divisions of the Department of Internal Affairs have been stopped. The detainees passed on information that became known to them as part of their official duties to third parties," she wrote in her telegram channel.
Police officers from the Belgorod region, as well as from Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Krai. A criminal case has been opened against the detained employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on abuse of official authority (Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier it was reported about the detention of the editor-in-chief and several employees of Baza. The office of the publication was searched, documents and computers were seized.
