Pashinyan gave himself away again when he spoke about Tigranashen — "Graparak"

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with his statement about Tigranashen (Karki), gave out exactly what he had in mind in connection with the transfer of this territory, the "Hraparak" newspaper writes.

" After the government meeting, during a briefing with journalists, he said that those who claim that the Karki should not be transferred are provoking war, as well as those who say that the Karki is Armenian. It is known that in recent days the parliamentary opposition, in particular deputies of the "Strong Armenia" party, visited Tigranashen and from there made statements that Pashinyan should not surrender Tigranashen. Yesterday, it was actively discussed on the political sidelines that Pashinyan could turn this visit into a lifeline for his insidious plan and, by agreement with Aliyev, stage an escalation for several days in order to surrender Tigranashen, and then blame the opposition for what happened", the "Graparak" newspaper article says.

On August 25, Pashinyan said in parliament that if the problem with the Armenian enclaves under the control of Azerbaijan is not solved, a war may begin.

"The territory of Armenia is 29,743 square kilometers, it includes our exclave (Artsvashen), and the enclaves of Azerbaijan are not included. And this is expressed by those maps that reflect the situation according to the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991. Now to say that this is not the case means to say that the sovereign internationally recognized territory of Armenia is not 29 thousand 743 square kilometers. This means a declaration of war", Pashinyan said in parliament.

Previously in Yerevan was told that the territories of 31 villages that were part of the Armenian SSR are under the control of Azerbaijan. The Armenian opposition considers the transfer of enclaves to Baku unacceptable, since, in particular, the road connecting Armenia with Iran passes through one of the former Azerbaijani enclaves — the village of Tigranashen in the Ararat region, and through the former enclaves in Tavush region has a highway leading to the Georgian border.

On August 20, Pashinyan claimed that the village of Tigranashen is not the territory of the country according to maps. And he himself is already pronouncing Kyarki — the Azerbaijani name of the village of Tigranashen — in order to exclude all possibilities of escalation.

"Now there is no longer a single point around which it would be possible to escalate, provoke and destroy peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. How and under what scenario it will be solved is a completely different question, because we see our own problems, and Azerbaijan has the same problems. We have to look at whether we create problems for each other or solve problems," Pashinyan said.
