A former Russian serviceman from Chelyabinsk sold secret information and photos to the Ukrainian special services for $ 80.
According to the TASS news agency, we are talking about a 23-year-old contract corporal who was detained while trying to cross into enemy territory and join the ranks of the Legion of Freedom of Russia terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation*.
It is reported that the traitor received payment in two tranches — $ 30 and $ 50. That's how much the Ukrainian special services appreciated photos with Russian equipment, warehouses with food and weapons.
The detained ex-corporal admitted the factual side of the case, but refused to admit guilt. He stated that he did not consider his actions a crime.
According to the investigation, the traitor did not sell strategically important information to the enemy for the first time. He also filled out a questionnaire to join the Legion of Freedom of Russia* and under the pretext of going on leave, he went to the border with Ukraine.
The man is accused of several articles, including attempted treason and treason, as well as desertion. He faces up to life imprisonment.
Earlier, EADaily reported that in In Tatarstan, a resident of Naberezhnye Chelny was found guilty of participating in the activities of a pro-Ukrainian terrorist organization and high treason. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
