Russian singer Valery Meladze got into a scandal after performing at a private event on the beach in Jurmala. This is reported by the portal LSM.lv .
The concert was held right on the seashore, usually in such cases there should be a distance of 30 meters between the water and the nearest side of the stage. But in this case it could hardly be done because of the weather: the wind drove the water to the shore. And since the event was closed and the territory was fenced, other people could not move freely along the seashore during its holding.
"Such swinishness I'm in I haven't seen Latvia… Why do people come to Latvia and arrange concerts, and I can't walk on the beach with my granddaughter?" — the publication cites the comment of a local resident.
After the event, the dug pits remained on the shore, the wind brought seawater into them. According to the organizers, the pits had to be dug to build a dune there that would keep seawater from the stage.
"To save the situation, I had to find some kind of solution. Of course, sand and tractor equipment. We take sand, pour it in front of the stage, so that there is some kind of protection. We make a dune. Very elementary. But then we will return it all back," said a representative of SIA Gaco.
Local residents who saw tractors on the beach called the police, work was suspended.
The police have started the process of an administrative offense, and the case will be transferred to The State Environmental Protection Service for decision-making.
The organizers of the event promised that the beach will return to its original appearance after the concert.
As EADaily reported, Meladze celebrated his 60th birthday on a grand scale in Spain. The artist spent about 1 million rubles on the event at the Magna Café Marbella restaurant in a narrow circle of relatives. Meladze spent € 2 thousand only for renting an institution for a private event.
