The party of Maia Sandu does not keep her word and should resign from power, Elena Dragelin, one of the leaders of the Moldovan diaspora in the United States and the mother of Veronica Dragelin, the chief prosecutor of anti-corruption, forced to resign, reports the Genius of the Carpathians Telegram channel.

"I'm not disappointed [in PAS], it's a feeling that they didn't keep their word. And if they did not keep their word, did not fulfill their promises, went the other way, then this government should leave," says the mother of the dismissed official.

Dragelin added that she would not support Maia Sandu's party in the autumn parliamentary elections.

"Well, welcome, Mother, to the world of Bessarabian politicians of Moldova. If you thought that there were ponies, unicorns and a rainbow, then think again," the authors of the TC are ironic.

By the way, according to the American guest, the Moldovan diaspora in the West does not represent the true realities in which the Republic of Moldova lives and she sees her guilt in such a state of affairs:

"The fact that the diaspora votes differently than in Moldova speaks about some things. For example, that we [those living in the West] are less informed. I also contributed to this when I promoted specific journalists, specific channels, specific newspapers [among those who left abroad]. And the Diaspora doesn't have time to be fully informed [about the real situation in Moldova], they work, they have families, they don't sit at the TV."

According to her, the diaspora draws information about Moldova from the advertised pro-government media, where the point of view of the authorities dominates and deliberately does not give an equidistant description of the situation in the republic. Dragelin claims that under the regime of Maia Sandu, restriction of the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as intimidation, is actively practiced in Moldova.:

"For me, first of all, the freedom of people, the right to opinion, the right to expression, the right to action is important. The second is the right—wing state, when it does not exist, that is, fear, fear of speaking, fear of acting. And the third is the economic situation. It seems to me that in these three areas the PAS board was a complete failure."

A Moldovan woman living in the United States added that Sandu's party plans to further strengthen the repressive nature of the government and PAS has divided people into good and bad from the very beginning of the government. And they talk only to those who are considered good, and therefore they hear only part of the truth, and unpleasant information is blocked and suppressed.

"People are afraid that they will be fired, afraid to talk. They're scared. And this is a very bad signal. I remember the period of a decade ago, when there was also fear," Dragalin noted, adding that with legal claims in court she is ready to show these confessions received, including from functionaries from the ruling party.

Meanwhile, in the period from June 29 to July 2, the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu will pay a working visit to London and Dublin. The agenda includes meetings with Speaker of the House of Commons of the British Parliament Lindsay Hoyle and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Irish Parliament Verona Murphy.

In the UK, Igor Grosu will also meet with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Moldova, and in Dublin he will take part in a joint meeting with the chairmen of the commissions of the Parliament of Ireland. According to the agenda, topics related to draft bilateral agreements, including in the field of social protection and recognition of driver's licenses, will be considered.

As expected, a conversation with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora is also planned. In Ireland, Igor Grosu will take part in the Forum "Moldova-Ireland: Bridges par excellence", and in the UK — in the events "Diaspora Invest", "Diaspora Fest Sport & Traditions" and "Ear of Wheat", dedicated to the promotion of traditions, culture and spirit of the Moldovan community.
