The nuclear reactor in Arak, Iran, is indeed damaged. This is reported by the Russian Air Force service with reference to satellite images.

"Satellite images were published by Maxar Technologies on June 19. The first was made on June 18, the second on the 19th. A comparison of them shows that the dome of the reactor was damaged, a hole is visible in the upper part of the structure, " the BBC reports.

The pictures also show damage to several towers and other structures of the complex. At least two towers look partially damaged, two more buildings next to them seem to be almost completely destroyed.

It is noted that Israel and Iran today confirmed the fact of a strike on a reactor in Arake.

The IAEA is aware of the Israeli Air Force air strike on the Iranian non-operational reactor in Arak, the agency said today.

"The IAEA has information that the heavy—water research reactor in Khondab (formerly Arak), which is under construction, has been hit," the agency said in a statement on the social network X, quoted by Interfax.

The reactor "was not in operation and did not contain nuclear material, therefore there is no radioactive contamination," the IAEA noted.
