Relatives of the Ukrainian military who are fighting in Sumy region, asking them to lay down their arms and surrender to the Russian Armed Forces.
This is reported by the TASS news agency, citing a source in the Russian law enforcement agencies. According to him, this follows their stories of the prisoners of war themselves.
"Since the beginning of this year, cases have become more frequent when relatives and friends of forcibly mobilized Ukrainian soldiers had a strong influence on their decision to lay down their arms and surrender," the source said.
The Ukrainians who surrendered reported that, for greater persuasiveness, their relatives were sending them Russian patriotic videos and songs.
So, in one case, the mother of one of their servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine persistently showed her son a "white handkerchief" via video link, hinting at surrender.
The source added that the wives and mothers of Ukrainian servicemen sometimes contact the Russian army themselves through specialized chatbots, asking for the evacuation of a loved one who is "hiding from mobilization or escaped from positions."
In addition, it is through the relatives of Ukrainian soldiers that "primary measures to ensure safe surrender" are most often carried out, the Russian military stressed.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russia and Ukraine has agreed to exchange the bodies of the dead according to the formula "6000 to 6000," said the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Moscow agrees, but doubts that Kiev has so many bodies of the Russian military.
