The bombing of trains in the Bryansk and Kursk regions is, of course, a terrorist act, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with members of the government on June 4.
The decision to hold them was made at Ukraine at the highest level, Putin said.
"The recent undermining of railway tracks in the Bryansk and Kursk regions is, of course, a terrorist act, and the decision to commit such crimes, of course, was taken at the Ukraine at the political level," he said.
As the President noted, "civilians suffer everywhere and always during armed conflicts, unfortunately."
"But what happened in the Bryansk region is a targeted attack on civilians. According to all international norms, such actions are called terrorism," he stressed.
On the night of June 1, a road bridge collapsed in the Bryansk region, under which the Klimov—Moscow passenger train was passing, as a result of which four cars with a locomotive derailed. Seven people were killed, 69 more were injured.
A few hours later, a railway bridge was blown up in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region while a freight train was moving along it. Part of the train crashed down onto the highway. The driver and his two assistants were injured.
