The Land Migration Office of Germany has not extended the residence permit to the head of the representative office of the media group "Russia Today" Sergey Feoktistov. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"Your request for an extension of a temporary residence permit has been rejected," the corresponding document received by the journalist says.
As the reason for the refusal, it is stated that the extension of the residence permit to a representative of the media group who supports Russian policy on Ukraine, will harm the political interests of Germany. The document also states that "Russia Today" has been under EU sanctions since February 25, 2023, but the journalist continued to work at the holding.
Feoktistov must leave the country before August 19, otherwise he will be forcibly expelled.
Recall that in March of this year, the Greek authorities, without explaining the reasons, refused to extend the accreditation to the chief correspondent of RIA Novosti Gennady Melnik, the correspondent had to close after 20 years of work.
