One of the bombs that failed to work on the railway last weekend allowed the participants in the investigation of the terrorist attacks to establish that the Ukrainian saboteurs used charges of plastic explosives C-4 of American origin, Kommersant writes.
In addition, the publication reports that the first suspects appeared in the case of quadrocopter raids on military airfields. FSB and TFR officers are interrogating trailer drivers who were used to deliver drones to the attack sites, and are also looking for a former Donetsk DJ who may have been involved in sending dangerous cargo.
Last weekend, three crimes were committed at the facilities of the Moscow Railway, which TFR investigators qualified as terrorist attacks and illegal trafficking of explosives committed by a group of persons (Articles 205 and 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). At 22:50 on Saturday, May 31, on the stretch between the Vygonichi—Pilshino stations in the Bryansk region, a road bridge was blown up, its plates collapsed on the moving passenger train No. 86 with the Klimov—Moscow message. It consisted of 11 carriages carrying 379 passengers.
The locomotive was completely smashed, two cars derailed. Seven people were killed, including the driver and his assistant.
More than a hundred people needed the help of doctors. Russian Railways notes that there could have been many more victims, but hundreds of passengers were saved by the driver Pavel Mishin, who "applied emergency braking."
On Sunday, June 1, at about three o'clock, a railway bridge was blown up on the stretch between the stations Ostapovo—Mikhailovsky mine in the Kursk region. The locomotive that was following at that moment and three of the hundreds of empty freight cars from Bryansk descended onto the E-391 highway. The rolling stock did not overturn, only the driver and his assistant were injured.
In the third attack there were no casualties and destruction. At 10.50 on June 1, on the stretch between the Unecha and Zhecha stations of the Bryansk region, an explosion occurred in front of a shunting locomotive, about 5 m of the railway track was damaged.
Inspecting the scene, the operational investigation team found another bomb that did not work. Having neutralized it, Rosgvardiya bomb technicians established that the explosive device consisted of about 10 kg of plastic explosives C-4. According to preliminary data, improvised explosive devices based on it were also used to commit two other terrorist attacks.
The investigation does not exclude that not one, but several groups of saboteurs acted. In any case, the distance between the mining sites is tens of kilometers, and it is quite difficult to move in the areas bordering Ukraine.
If there are no suspects yet in the investigation of explosions on the Moscow railway, then they have already appeared in cases of attacks on military airfields, the newspaper reports.
Last Sunday, military units in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur regions were attacked with the help of quadrocopters loaded with plastic. According to the Ministry of Defense, most FPV drones were shot down, and in Murmansk and In the Irkutsk region, where the launches were carried out near airfields, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, "several pieces of aviation equipment caught fire."
As the security forces found out, in all five cases, drone carrier trailers were used for attacks. The quadrocopters themselves were delivered to Russia from abroad, allegedly imported from Kazakhstan to the Chelyabinsk region, where the organizers of the crime rented a warehouse for a transport company. In it, drones in containers were packed into trucks, and the machines themselves were sent to the regions of strategic and long-range aviation. According to the documents, the drivers were supposed to deliver building materials to customers. However, at a distance closest to the attack sites, the roofs over the drones were remotely opened, and they themselves were directed to the airfields.
In the Irkutsk region, drivers who witnessed the attack tried to stop the launches using cobblestones. Perhaps, after their intervention, the consequences of the emergency became less impressive.
"Nevertheless, it was the trailer drivers who became the first suspects — FSB and TFR officers interrogate them, checking whether they were used in the dark or the drivers assisted the organizers of the crime. In addition to them, the list of suspects includes the owners of a warehouse in Chelyabinsk, as well as a DJ and musician from Donetsk, Artem Timofeev. Orientation to it was published in the Telegram channel of the administration of the city of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region, and then deleted. It is assumed that the man worked in the same transport company that organized the delivery of drones instead of building materials. Security forces are now checking trailers in many regions, obviously fearing that new terrorist attacks may follow,"the article says.
The attack was organized by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk *, who reported it as a successful special operation to the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. Malyuk* has been wanted by Russia since 2023 for organizing a series of other terrorist crimes. Among them are drone raids that were brought to Russia in advance. The so-called delayed launches were also in Moscow. It is General Malyuk * who is also called the creator of the criminal group, which in October 2022 sent a trailer with a load of film packed with more than 20 tons of explosives across the Crimean Bridge and remotely detonated it. As a result, eight defendants in this case involved in the clearance of cargo and its delivery appeared before the Southern District Military Court. The defense claims that the Ukrainian special services used them in the dark.
