In Spain, as a result of an assassination attempt, Andrei Portnov, who previously served as deputy head of the administration of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, was killed.
According to local media, the politician was shot by a killer, having received four gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the head.
The attack on Portnov happened in the village of Pozuelo de Alarcon near Madrid. The perpetrator was waiting for his victim near the entrance to the local school.
According to local sources who refer to the police, a professional killer probably worked — he made a control shot to the head and fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Currently, Spanish law enforcement officers are searching for the attacker. So far, the police have not put forward clear versions, but journalists are sure that Portnov's death is connected with his past political activities.
Portnov was known as one of the initiators of the laws aimed at suppressing the Euromaidan protests in 2014. Later he became on Ukraine is a person involved in the investigation on charges of treason.
