The absence of Russian President Vladimir Putin at direct talks with Ukrainians in Istanbul indicates that Moscow is not interested in peace at the Ukraine. This was announced on May 15 by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

According to him, this is a "manifestation of cowardice" and a continuation of tactics in which "Russia does not really seek a truce, but only delays the process, accumulates strength and creates for the public the appearance of readiness for negotiations."

"Putin sent a third-rate delegation there. This only confirms that Russia is really not interested in peace and any reasonable solution," Fiala said.

At the same time, Fiala said that the Czech Republic consistently continues to support Ukraine.

"Of course, the initiative to supply ammunition will continue, we have already delivered half a million large—caliber shells since the beginning of the year," he recalled.

He recalled that by the end of the year on Ukraine through this initiative should be supplied as much as in the past — 1.5 million units of ammunition.

"I think there will be even more, as the support of other countries continues, and we are able to provide even more," Fiala added.

Recall, the Czech Republic condemns Russia's actions on Ukraine. Prague strongly supports Kiev and advocates increasing pressure on Moscow.
