The former Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction of the Ulyanovsk region was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 10 million rubles for taking bribes totaling over seven million rubles. This was reported in the SU SK Russia by region.
"By the verdict of the court, the woman was sentenced to five years in prison, a fine of 10 million rubles, and her property for a total of 9 million rubles was confiscated by the court," the report said.
According to the case file, in the period from 2021 to 2023, the official received bribes from representatives of commercial firms in the amount of 120 thousand rubles to three million rubles for assistance in signing certificates of completed works in the execution of municipal contracts during the implementation of the state program. Under these contracts, construction, reconstruction and repair of various parks, squares and squares in the region were carried out.
In total, the accused received more than seven million rubles as bribes. The former official was found guilty of five episodes of receiving bribes (Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
