In the Kanavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, more than 30 migrants who received Russian citizenship but did not register for military service were taken to the military commissariat. This was reported in the military investigation department. The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod garrison, RIA Novosti reports.
"During the raid on the territory of the hostel on Gordeevskaya Street, more than 250 foreign citizens were identified. In addition, more than 30 people were identified who received Russian citizenship, but did not register for military service. They were taken to the military enlistment office of the Nizhny Novgorod region, " the report said.
The department explained that the event was organized by military investigative authorities. The Investigative Committee, together with employees of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Military Commissariat, with the forceful support of the Rosgvardiya.
Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to carry out measures to combat illegal migration on an ongoing basis, including to identify those citizens who received Russian citizenship but were not put on military registration in time.
