Madrid is in favor of ending the blockade of Cuba. This was stated by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.
According to him, Madrid will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the island state.
"We want the situation with the blockade to end and that only the Cuban people freely decide what their future should be," he said.
At the same time, the head of the Spanish Foreign Ministry noted that there is a "terrible humanitarian situation" in Cuba today.
Recall that the situation in Cuba has deteriorated sharply since the end of January 2026 after the United States announced measures aimed at a complete blockade of fuel supplies to the island. There is an acute shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel in the country. In March, the national electric power grid failed three times, as a result of which there was no light throughout the territory for a long time.
