"On the Russian side of the border checkpoint across the Psou River, the leader of a significant part of the Abkhaz people, Adgur Ardzinba, was again detained for several hours without explanation," the association said in a statement.

NGO "Aruaa" demanded that the President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba "immediately respond to the facts of persecution of citizens for political reasons, abandon the practice of pressure and intimidation and ensure respect for the constitutional rights and freedoms of all citizens of Abkhazia, regardless of their political beliefs."

On March 1, during the voting in the presidential elections of Abkhazia, about 20 people entered the polling station in Tsandripsha and damaged the ballot box.
