Vice President of the USA Jay Dee Vance called absurd statements by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, that Washington took the side of Russia.
"It is absurd that Zelensky is telling the US government, thanks to which all his government and military efforts are now being held, that we somehow took the side of Russia," he said in an interview with the UnHerd portal.
The politician considers such rhetoric "obviously unproductive."
According to Vance, in order to resolve the conflict, it is necessary to understand the strategic goals of both sides, TASS reports.
Earlier, Zelensky in an interview with CBS said that Vance "somehow justifies the actions" of Moscow.
