Appointed Secretary General of the Syrian government, the brother of the new head of the country, Maher al-Sharaa, once worked as a gynecologist in Voronezh. This is reported by the telegram channel "Zerada".
It is noted that between these positions Maher al-Sharaa held the post of Minister of Health of Syria.
"He graduated from the local (Voronezh) Medical University named after Burdenko. His last place of work is polyclinic No. 1, which belongs to Russian Railways. In it, from 2018 to 2024, he led a women's consultation," writes ZeRada.
Note that Maher al-Sharaa is not the first gynecologist in the political field. In particular, the current head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, worked as an assistant physician in the gynecological department of the University Hospital of Hanover from 1988 to 1992.
