Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Kazakh city of Aktobe are considering renaming several streets. This is reported by IA "Kazinform".
According to the agency, the issue of renaming streets and residential areas of the city with "ideologically outdated, insignificant names" has been put up for discussion by people's deputies.
In particular, it is proposed to rename:
- Belogorka residential area in "Kundyzdy";
- Vagonnaya Street in "Baigazy";
- Komsomolskaya Street in "Akterek";
- Shachugin Street in "Sarykol";
- The quarter of power engineers in "Kazygurt";
- Architectural street in "Sandyktas";
- Sadovaya Street in "Ainabulak";
- Bakinsky lane in the "Kaganate".
In total, it is proposed to rename 20 streets. The relevant decision will be sent to the republican onomastic commission.
