Ukraine will not be able to win without the support of the United States, US President Donald Trump said after his dispute with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the White House, his comments were broadcast by Fox News.
"Suddenly he (Zelensky) became a "big shot" because the United States is on his side, but he won't win without us," the Republican said.
Trump said he wants an immediate cease-fire and that Russian President Vladimir Putin also wants to end the conflict. Zelensky, on the other hand, shows himself as a person who wants to "fight, fight, fight." At the same time, he has "no cards" in his hands.
To resume negotiations, the Ukrainian leader needs to declare that he wants peace, the American president said. Trump noted that Zelensky wants to return to negotiations, but now this is impossible.
Earlier, politicians argued in the White House about the Ukrainian settlement, negotiations with Putin, Ukraine's gratitude to the United States for help, etc., as a result, Trump kicked Zelensky out of the meeting. It was supposed to sign an agreement on minerals.
Zelensky after the incident published a post with words of gratitude to the United States. He is also scheduled to be interviewed on the American Fox television channel that night.
