Russia is developing a "weapon of last resort" with which Vladimir Putin can paralyze the West. The columnist of the Romanian edition writes about this Libertatea.ro (from the room. — "Freedom") Ionut Bayas.
According to the Romanian publicist, the West is waiting for "catastrophic consequences" if Moscow finalizes and uses these weapons.
"Massive power outages paralyzing defense, banking, medicine, disabling satellites and disrupting energy infrastructure — such damage can be caused by weapons attacking using an electromagnetic pulse. Experts agree that the use of such weapons today will have disastrous consequences. Currently, Russia is working on its creation," Bayas writes.
According to the author, visually the effect of the weapon resembles a powerful magnetic storm with a "spectacular northern lights" visible from Canada to New Zealand. A Romanian columnist scares his compatriots that "Russia is currently working on a weapon that could cause comparable effects."
Ionut Bayas clarifies that in the case of the use of this type of weapon, and Russia, in particular, the "last chance weapon" will also cause serious damage to Russian satellites.
