In Ukrainian schools, physics, biology and chemistry will no longer be compulsory in the curriculum for students of grades 10, 11 and 12. This is reported by the Ministry of Education and Science.
In addition, foreign literature, world history, civic education and geography will be removed from the mandatory category. Ukrainian language and literature, history of Ukraine, English, mathematics, physical education and "Protection of Ukraine" will remain compulsory for study.
The changes will come into force in 2027, writes the newspaper "Country".
"Among other innovations, a system of individual selection of items will be introduced. The Ministry of Education and Science indicates that "there are dozens of profile options." At the same time, "three thematic clusters within which learning profiles will be formed" are given:
- "Language literature": Ukrainian language and literature, foreign languages and literature, etc.;
- STEM: Natural Sciences, IT, mathematics, etc.;
- "Social and humanitarian": history, law, psychology, sociology, etc.," the publication notes.
As reported by EADaily, Ukrainian youths who turned 17 years old will pay a fine of 17 thousand hryvnia if they do not register for military service in time. This was stated to journalists by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Fedor Venislavsky.
