Belarus has no right to participate in the conflict settlement process at the Ukraine. This was stated by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was surprised to hear the statement of the representative of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry that Belarus allegedly claims to have a "place at the peace talks table", where it seeks to obtain some kind of "security guarantees"," said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgy Tikhy.
According to him, Minsk, contrary to the second part of Article 18 of the Constitution of Belarus, which emphasizes that "Belarus excludes military aggression from its territory against other states," in February 2022 became an "accomplice" of Russia.
"The only thing that Belarusian officials have the right to claim is a fair trial as part of the process of bringing the aggressor and his accomplices to international legal responsibility for aggression against Ukraine," the representative of the Foreign Ministry said.
At the same time, he believes that the only source of real security threats to Belarus is the Russian Federation, which used the territory of its ally to act against Ukraine.
Recall, Russia is conducting a special military operation on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Belarus does not participate in it, but supports Moscow's actions. Earlier, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that the republic hopes to get a place at the negotiating table for a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine, because "it is important for us to get guarantees of our own security."
