The Libyan Foreign Ministry asked Russia to immediately explain the reason for its recommendations to refrain from traveling to this African country, the press service of the ministry said in X.
"The Ministry asks the Russian Foreign Ministry to urgently clarify what prompted and what are the reasons for such a recommendation," the statement said.
The ministry stressed that the two countries are developing "respectful and transparent bilateral relations."
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on citizens to refuse to travel to Libya "for personal and tourist purposes," "especially" its "western part" due to the tense military and political situation in this state.
"Visiting the country for non-official purposes poses a risk to life and health," reads the message published on the telegram channel of the Foreign Ministry on December 12.
As noted in the department, recommendations to refrain from traveling to this country have been in force since 2011.
