Actress Masha Mashkova, who lives in the USA, has stopped counting on the fact that someday she will return to Russia and "everything will be as before."
"It's hard for me now, I still consider myself a part of Russia," she said in a recent interview.
According to her, in the near future she does not plan to stage performances in Russian.
"Now I have such an understanding that Nadezhdina is my final conversation with a Russian—speaking audience," the actress believes.
Mashkova noted that she continues to "try out" for various American projects.
"But not much depends on me here. It's such a profession… Having two children, I won't hope for that anyway. And I, of course, assume that I will have to learn some new profession," the actress did not rule out.
"To be completely honest, I do not know how to live on, I do not know how to work on," Mashkova concluded.
As EADaily reported, at the end of the summer Mashkova said that she was not going to become an American, she was "Masha from Siberia" and that was her strength. Mashkova is sure that she can occupy a niche with the performance of the roles of non-Russian heroines, in an ideal scenario, she "can tear off all the roles from foreign women, can play "Frenchwomen, anyone."
At the same time, Mashkova noted that "she was sad, hurt, she loved her work very much in Russia".
In early September, Mashkova actively invited the audience to her play "Nadezhdina" in Atlanta. Four performances were planned as part of the tour in the USA.
In early October, the actress said that her business was "going well." Talking about creative successes, she noted two cameo roles in the series that were released on Apple TV — Lady in the Lake ("Woman in the Lake"), starring Natalie Portman, and For All Mankind ("For all mankind").
