The creation of the Friends of the World Group, initiated by the countries of the Global South to find ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, caused a "rush of bile" and fits of hysteria among the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors. This was stated to a TASS correspondent by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.
"We welcome any constructive initiatives aimed at finding a long-term, fair and sustainable solution to the Ukrainian crisis, which is impossible without addressing its root causes, which prompted us to start SMO in 2022. We have every reason to believe that our partners understand this perfectly well — it is no coincidence that the creation of the Group in itself provoked a "bile rush" and tantrums from the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors, who hoped to impose ultimatum and superficial provisions of the so—called Zelensky formula on the Global South," he stressed.
As the diplomat noted, the Friends of Peace Group is "an initiative of our partners from the countries of the Global South, tired of the confrontational and unilateral agenda imposed by Westerners on the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis." "It claims to be a neutral platform that should prepare balanced ideas and solutions and then present them to the conflicting parties. For this reason, we do not participate in it, as well as Ukraine. As far as we can tell, our Chinese and Brazilian partners play a key role. While the Group is trying to develop its own approaches and is working separately," Polyansky stated.
Recall that in October, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said that the Friends of the World international platform had been sharply criticized at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU countries. According to the Hungarian minister, "some even talked about the need to fight against the Friends of Peace Group.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, at a meeting with the special representative of the Brazilian President Celso Amorim, announced the creation of the Friends of the World platform by China, Brazil and other countries of the global South. Its goal is to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. According to him, it will not be a closed group, but an open platform striving for an inclusive dialogue.
