Some of the 10,900 DPRK army soldiers sent to the Kursk region are fighting as part of elite Russian airborne and naval units against Ukraine. This was stated by the deputy of the intelligence committee of the South Korean parliament, Park Song-won, with reference to the intelligence agency of South Korea, The Guardian reports.
According to the deputy, North Korea has also shipped additional weapons for use in the SMO zone, including self-propelled howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The meeting of North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow this month was unusual from the point of view of protocol and probably went beyond the exchange of greetings, touching on more important issues, including a possible visit to Russia by Kim Jong-un, Park added.
