Theater and film actor, director and screenwriter star of the TV series "Matchmakers" Alexander Feklistov admitted that he continued to work in Russia and after the start of a special military operation until all his projects were closed. He told about this in an interview with the Sheinkin40 podcast.

"I had a feeling that the audience was going to the theater, he had a different attention. But then they closed one performance, closed another performance, closed the third," Feklistov recalls.

According to him, some of the performances were closed precisely because of his statements. The artist noted that he was almost completely out of work and therefore decided to flee the country.

"I was not ready to work as a janitor, a stoker, and I had such a future in Russia," he stated.

As reported by EADaily, Feklistov fled to Spain at the end of 2023. After the SMO began, he recorded a video message to the Russian government, taking the liberty to speak on behalf of the entire population of the country, which caused a negative reaction from social media users and a number of colleagues. In particular, actress Tatyana Vasilyeva felt that the artist simply "went crazy."

"I can only explain it by some kind of insanity. I do not know, he is such a quiet, peaceful person, a very good actor. We played with him a lot. He's some kind of Russian. Some kind of cottage there, fishing... I can only explain it by insanity," she said.

His colleague on the TV series "Matchmakers" actress Tatyana Kravchenko also condemned his position. According to her, neither he nor other runaway artists understand anything about politics.

"Why are they climbing? For nine years they bombed Donetsk, my beloved city, I come from Donetsk, I know all these streets there. These are tears," Kravchenko said.
