Territorial concessions to Russia are being seriously discussed in Kiev for the first time — Spiegel

Office of the President of Ukraine

The authorities of the Kiev regime for the first time began to seriously discuss possible territorial concessions to Russia in order to resolve the armed conflict.

This is reported by the German edition of Der Spiegel with reference to a high-ranking Ukrainian official. According to him, Kiev is being pushed to this by the inevitable reduction in Western aid.

The Office of the President of Ukraine believes that this will happen in any case, regardless of the US presidential election. Bankova calculated that "the Americans will slowly but surely be eliminated" from providing further assistance to Ukraine.

"The prognosis is bad. People don't really want to fight anymore," the source admitted.

He also drew attention to the fatigue of Ukraine from the war — there is a decrease in morale in The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the growing split in society.

The official also admitted that the Ukrainian leadership dreamed of completely unrealistic ideas about victory. Now it is clear that the deal should also be beneficial to the Russian side.

"We thought that Russia's unconditional surrender should be a victory. But we can't do without concessions," he said.

The article notes that Ukrainians quickly exhausted the optimism they felt in early August after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Kursk region. Now the country has fallen into a state of "war of attrition."

The termination of the conflict, according to the official, "is impossible without concessions." He believes that the deal should "be beneficial for Russia as well."

It should be noted that recently many Western media have been writing that the Kiev regime is actively looking for ways to diplomatically resolve the military conflict with Russia.

However, it is worth remembering that approximately the same articles filled the pages of Western publications at the end of July, which also talked about "fatigue," "exhaustion," and "unwillingness to fight." And on August 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces invaded the Kursk region.
