Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin called Iran's attack on Israel an "outrageous act of aggression" and said he had a telephone conversation with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant after the attack.
"Today I spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant after today's outrageous act of aggression by Iran against Israel. The Minister and I expressed our gratitude to each other for the coordinated defense of Israel against about 200 ballistic missiles launched by Iran, and pledged to maintain close contact. I also expressed my deepest condolences to the families affected by the terrible and deadly shooting of terrorists in Israel," reads a message on Austin's page on the social network X.
Earlier, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Iran fired about 180 missiles at Israel, many of which were intercepted. At the same time, videos on social networks show falls in different parts of Israel. As a result of the attack in Israel, one person was killed, who was an illegal immigrant from the Gaza Strip. The ambulance service reported several cases of minor shrapnel wounds and injuries on the way to shelters.
