The Russian military enjoys all the advantages that the Kursk direction gives them, said military-political commentator Mikhail Onufrienko, commenting on the reasons for the significant losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces military equipment in the Kursk region.
"Yes, the fighting is heavy, yes the fighting is fierce, but we are taking advantage of all the advantages that this direction gives us: the absolute coverage of the enemy, the ability to fully engage the front-line operation, the inability of the enemy to pull up effective air defense systems here, because here they are in close proximity to the front line at any position and are immediately knocked out."— the expert said on Sputnik radio.
Onufrienko called the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kursk a record.
"Here they have record losses of multiple launch rocket systems, HIMARS, German and American installations. Here, 14 units were lost. This is more than in the previous year," he stressed.
