The entertainment TV show Comedy Club, which first aired 19 years ago, is closing. This was reported by the press service of the TNT TV channel.
"We confirm that the Comedy Club is closing," said resident, presenter and creative producer of the project Garik Kharlamov.
The last issue of "Goodbye Comedy" will be shown on September 20 at 21:00 Moscow time. The show will open with Kharlamov's statement.
As part of the farewell, the participants of the Women's Stand-up show will visit the club for the first time.
Also, TV presenter Dmitry Dibrov, actress Natalia Bochkareva, participants of the show "Once upon a Time in Azamat Musagaliyev, Denis Dorokhov and Yana Koshkina, ex-resident of the club and producer of Okko Gavriil Gordeev, as well as general producer of the Comedy Club Arthur Janibekyan. TV presenter Yulia Menshova will interview the residents right on stage.
Comedy Club was first released on April 23, 2005. In 2006, Comedy Club entered the top 10 most commercially successful Russian projects (ninth place with a result of $ 3.5 million) according to Forbes magazine. In April 2007, the hundredth issue was released and the production company Comedy Club Production was created. Later, the project moved from a small hall to a new spacious one. In 2012, the controlling stake in Comedy Club Production was sold to TNT for a record amount of $ 350 million.
In 2017, the show again changed the venue to the Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall.
The TV show twice became the winner of the TEFI Award — in 2017 and 2023.
