The task of the West in investigating the undermining of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream—2 gas pipelines is to absolve itself of responsibility. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, to Izvestia.
"Because the task of the West is to absolve itself of responsibility for the terrorist attack on "Nord Streams," the diplomat noted, answering the question why two years later Germany decided to actively take up the investigation, and commenting on the publication of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
EADaily adds that four interlocutors who participated in the organization of sabotage on Nord Streams told The Wall Street Journal that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, knew about the plan to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipelines and initially approved it. According to them, the operation was conceived in May 2022 as a response to Russia's SMO. The Ukrainian military had to be responsible for its implementation, while businessmen took over the financing, since the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not have the funds for it. The operation was led by the then commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny.
It is noted that Zelensky approved the sabotage plan in words, without signing any papers. But a month later, the military intelligence agency of the Netherlands found out about Kiev's intention and transmitted data about it to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States. American officials informed Germany about the plan of the Ukrainian authorities. The CIA also demanded that the office of the President of Ukraine stop preparing sabotage. Zelensky immediately ordered Zaluzhny to curtail the operation, but, according to WSJ sources, he disobeyed the order.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, citing a joint investigation with the ARD TV channel and the Die Zeit newspaper, reported that the German Prosecutor General's Office had issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian diving instructor suspected of involvement in the bombing of Nord Streams. Recently, the newspaper wrote, he lived in Poland. According to reports, the suspect fled. The German prosecutor's office, as indicated by the publication, suspects two more Ukrainian diving instructors of involvement in sabotage on the Nord Streams, among them there is a woman. It is assumed that all three could be part of the crew of the sailing yacht Andromeda, which is the focus of the investigation of the Federal Republic of Germany. The vessel could be used to deliver explosives to pipelines.
Recall that explosions on the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 underwater gas pipelines occurred in the economic zones of Sweden and Denmark on the night of September 26, 2022.
