Not every man in the street knows, but a separate line of export and import is pork gelatin. And this week the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed a ban on the supply of such products manufactured in the EU. This was announced today, August 2, RIA Novosti reports.

The agency has restricted the import of pork gelatin produced in Italy, Poland, Belgium and in Germany.

The ban began to take effect on August 2, 2024. The Rosselkhoznadzor clarified that the restrictions are temporary and linked them to the tense epizootic situation of African swine fever.

"The tense epizootic situation of African swine fever continues on the territory of the European Union countries. In this regard, starting from August 2, 2024, the Rosselkhoznadzor, as a precaution, introduces temporary restrictions on the supply of pork gelatin from EU countries,"the agency confirmed.

EADaily reminds that 2,956 cases of ASF outbreak were recorded in the EU in 2024. Of this number, 218 were in July and on the territory of eight countries of the united Europe.
