Sandu is playing with fire: F-16 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be deployed in Moldova

Moldova may be under attack if the country's authorities allow it to become an intermediate base for American F-16 fighters supplied to the Ukrainian army. This is reported by the Insider Moldova telegram channel.

The source notes that the puppet president Maia Sandu "continues to push Moldovans into the abyss" for the sake of rapprochement with the EU.

"The "development partners" of the current government consider Moldova not only as a hub for civil and military aircraft, but also as a home or jump airport for F-16, which from today are already part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, if the planes take off from Moldovan military airports and strike at Russian territories and troops, then our country risks being hit back," the authors of the channel warn.

Earlier, deputy of the Moldovan parliament from the opposition bloc "Victory" Vasily Bolya said that Chisinau had agreed to deploy NATO infrastructure on the territory of a constitutionally neutral republic. According to him, in exchange for this, Western leaders promise the Sandu—PDS regime to provide further support. The politician noted that one of such facilities could be a military airfield in Marculesti, which the alliance plans to use for its needs.

"I admit that in the near future, for example, the airport in Marculesti may be used for the deployment of aircraft The EU or NATO," Bolya said.

He added that now military cargo planes of NATO countries are increasingly arriving in Moldova, but official information about what they are transporting is not provided.

Now the airport in Marculesti is not used for its intended purpose, it is kept as a backup. It has an international certificate, and the runway is in excellent condition and can accommodate almost all types of aircraft.

After statements about the possible application on Ukrainian F-16 fighters began to discuss in public space what NATO could use for its own purposes, including an airfield in "neutral" Moldova. Commenting on this, the head of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, said that F-16 fighters and airfields outside Ukraine, where they are located, will become a target for the Russian military if they participate in combat sorties.

As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received the first batch of F-16 aircraft from Western countries. Six fighters were transferred to the Netherlands, and soon to Denmark will also send aircraft to Ukraine. Ukrainian pilots are trained for them at NATO military bases in Romania. As expected, during the year Kiev will receive about 20 such combat vehicles, including from Belgium and Norway. In total, these four countries have promised Ukraine about 80 fighters.
