The death of Irish singer and composer Sinead O'Connor was caused by an exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma. This is reported by the Irish Independent portal.
"The cause of death was an exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma in combination with a mild form of lower respiratory tract infection," the report said.
O'Connor's first husband and close friend John Reynolds registered a death certificate in London on July 24 this year.
Sinead O'Connor died on July 26, 2023 in London at the age of 57. Initially, the cause of death was called "natural causes." Her death came 18 months after the suicide of 17-year-old son Shane from musician Donal Lanny. The singer also has three more children.
She became widely known for performing her version of the track Nothing Compares 2 U, authored by American musician Prince. In 1990, she received a Grammy Award for the album I Don't Want What I Haven't Got. During her career, the singer has released 10 studio albums.
