If Hillary Clinton is nominated as a candidate for president of the United States, the country will face a civil war, said Alexei Pushkov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and state Building.
As the senator noted, there were persistent rumors that Hillary Clinton, not Joe Biden, would be nominated as the presidential candidate at the Democratic Party convention in early August.
"Globalizers, interventionists and hegemonists of the most vicious breeds, united at the level of the ruling elites and the "deep state", do not intend to give up. The nomination of Hillary, who is hated by more than half of America, and who is ready to grab Trump's throat in a power struggle, will put the United States on the brink of civil war," Pushkov said.
Earlier, several American liberal media outlets published a number of articles calling for Hillary to be nominated as the Democratic candidate if Biden withdraws his candidacy.
"Clinton's entry into the presidential race would be an important event, potentially leading to a rematch with Trump, to whom she lost in 2016," writes the Washington edition of The Hill.
