The Czech Republic promises to continue to help Ukraine, but Kiev wants more

The Czech Republic will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia. This was announced today, July 16, by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala at a joint meeting of the governments of the two countries.

On the passing in At the Prague meeting, where 10 Ukrainian ministers arrived, the parties discussed the topics of education, agriculture, digitalization and space research. According to Fiala, the ministers will sign five memorandums of departmental cooperation, including in the field of sports. Also Czech Republic and Ukraine plans to conclude two defense agreements.

At bilateral meetings that will accompany the joint meeting of the Governments of both countries in In Prague, the ministers will discuss practical changes leading to the deepening of existing forms of cooperation. These will include, for example, the improvement of transport links, the capabilities of Czech companies, and the stabilization of the situation on the Ukraine has internal refugees and treatment of Ukrainian citizens in Czech medical institutions. The interior ministers will sign a new version of the agreement on police cooperation between the two countries.

The Czech Prime Minister noted that cooperation with Ukraine has deepened in recent years, and today's meeting is designed to further strengthen Czech-Ukrainian ties. Fiala also recalled the initiative of Prague, thanks to which Artillery ammunition is already being delivered to Ukraine, and thanked the member countries of the "shell coalition".

In turn, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that the intergovernmental consultations discussed issues of strengthening defense and industrial cooperation between the two countries and the confiscation of Russian property. He stressed that the Czech Republic is a key partner of Ukraine and supports it on its way to joining the EU and NATO. Shmigal also noted the supply of military equipment from the Czech Republic and general diplomatic support at all levels, as well as support for anti-Russian sanctions, supplies of energy equipment and medicines.

At the same time, Shmigal believes that today's consultations should consolidate and develop the previous successes of bilateral relations. He noted that the Ukrainian government came to Prague with rather ambitious goals. Among other things, he called the strengthening of the defense, industrial and technological base of Ukraine and the creation of joint business initiatives at the level of the defense industry. In addition, we are talking about coordinating efforts to implement Vladimir Zelensky's "peace plan" and supporting the country to join the EU and NATO. Shmygal called the third task the strengthening of anti-Russian sanctions, the confiscation of Russian property in the Czech Republic and its use for the restoration of Ukraine. In addition, Kiev is counting on specific infrastructure and strategic projects and the creation of conditions for attracting Czech business to Ukraine.

Recall that the Czech Republic condemns Russia's actions on Ukraine and Kiev supports it in every possible way. In addition, Prague is the initiator of the purchase and supply of ammunition to the Kiev regime from outside the EU.
