Officers of the Ukrainian Security Service, police and prosecutor’s office have blocked transmission of banned Russian TV channels organized by local residents, the website of the Security Service informs.
The statement says that the TV center was illegally functioning at a shopping mall and was pretending to render services as an official TV provider. It is also said that illegal software was used. Decoding equipment, servers and cards to access satellite television.
According to the Security Service, the center had thousands of clients.
A poll conducted in march by the Kiev International Sociology Institute has shown that almost 50% of Ukrainians oppose ban of Russian TV channels.
