Ukraine’s decision to expel 13 Russian diplomats must not be left without a tough response from Moscow, even taking into account that Kiev had no choice in this situation, political analyst Vladimir Kornilov is quoted as saying by riafan.ru.
“How could it act otherwise, if such actions were taken by all its masters? The fact that it expelled most diplomats (except for the USA and Great Britain) means that Kiev wants to ingratiate itself most,” the expert believes.
According to him, Russia has no choice but give a mirror-like response by expelling the same number of Ukrainian diplomats.
“Meanwhile, Russia has additional leverage upon Ukraine and western countries. One of them is to recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk Peoples’ Republics and make a defensive alliance with them. I think the time has come to give a tip that such thing may happen,” Kornilov said.
