Nobody has been injured as a result of the shooting at the windows of the office of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General.
According to Spokesperson for Ukraine’s National Security Council Olena Gitlyanska, at the moment of the shooting, Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was conferring with his personnel in his office.
Gitlyanska has not confirmed the report saying that the shots were fired by a sniper.
According to EADaily, a group of Ukrainian MPs has started collecting signatures to dismiss Shokin.
Earlier Ukraine’s Interior Ministry charged Shokin with attempting to wreck the visa waiver program with the EU. Following a complaint by Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski, the Ministry urged Shokin to replace his representatives to the contest committee electing the anti-corruption prosecutor and his staff.
